The Lavender Farm Blog

The lovely lavender blooms have come to an end.

Choppie Kotze - Tuesday, October 12, 2010
We are busy pruning the lavender bushes by 50%. The off cuts are then used for the production of a few litres of precious lavender oil. The old plants are removed and new plants are planted. All this and more takes place from now until end of February. Good weather permitting we look forward to another colourful lavender season in 2011.

My mother and I are busy making lavender goodies and stocking up on the various products for the N G Kerk Bredasdorp Festus Market and an open day at the Wilderbraam Berry Estate. Not to worry we will make sure our stocks are kept up to date in case one of my lavender fans to pay us a visit.

Remember that between now and March 2011 there will be no lavender to see. Only lavender products will be available.
March 2011 will also bring a bundle of joy to the lavender farm. We will soon know if it is a boy or a girl. Next blog you will be updated.
